Dubai, 23% of Gulf retail

Dubai's retailing sector makes up about 23% of the Gulf's $65bn retail industry, reported Gulf News. Simon Thompson, Principal of Retail International, addressing a retail IT seminar in Sharjah, stated that Dubai's retail industry could eventually contribute 30% of a $30bn per annum industry: this total would be the equivalent of 10.25% of the GCC's current oil revenues.
